Back on the road with the EV Rally 2025
At Drax Electric Vehicles, we were buzzing to be involved in GreenFleet’s annual EV Rally again this year. The event showcases what’s possible with EVs and charging facilities and helps dispel the negative media coverage about vehicle range and infrastructure issues.
Last year’s instalment was great fun. This year, there was the added incentive of a focus on how renewable energy can power the EV transition, and we had plenty in store for the touring experts at our end-of-day-three checkpoint.
The weather might not have played ball, but that didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits. After significant drives on days one and two, Wednesday offered a window into the future of mobility with hands-on innovation inspiration at the CENEX Expo in Milton Keynes. And what better way for the 100+ enthusiasts and industry professionals to rest their weary bodies afterwards than at the Drax Electric Vehicles ‘Rest and Recharge Zone’?
We put on a barbecue and offered ice creams at our Ipswich head office. But we went to town with a range of games and even provided head and neck massages for those feeling the strain of three days on the road.
You can see the highlights from our end-of-day checkpoint here.
Amongst the fun, we took the opportunity to catch up with some of our experts, pitting them against each other in a quiz on popular EV talking points. We filmed the responses – so look out for the videos on our LinkedIn page and the Drax Energy Solutions YouTube channel.
We also asked them about their views on the future of EVs – and our event illustrator sketched the results in real-time… see below!

Naomi Nye, Head of Sales at Drax Electric Vehicles, enjoyed the experience – and is already looking forward to next year:
“This year’s event was as positive as ever – showing what EVs and infrastructure are capable of. And the theme of clean energy and innovation was very much up our street!
The rallies over the past few years have shown – particularly given increases in vehicle range and expansion of UK charging infrastructure – that electrification provides genuine opportunity to organisations. Next, we need to focus on the harder-to-electrify vehicles and business cases. I’m hopeful that we’ll see a spotlight on commercial vehicles soon – the EV Rally’s just the event to bring the expertise and the innovation together to show that we can conquer the challenges of LCV and HGV electrification.”
