How do I request a refund?

If you have any credit on your Drax account, you can request a refund by calling our Customer Service team on 01473 277556.

When you call us, please have a current meter reading and your payment details to hand. When we have these details, we can verify your credit balance and we aim to refund you within 10 working days.

If you're moving premises or would like to close your account, please read this page.

Closing your account

When you close your account with us, here’s what you can do to help us produce an accurate final invoice. This also makes sure we can promptly refund any money we may owe you.

  1. Send us a final meter reading.
  2. Contact us to confirm your account and payment details so we can refund any credit if needed. We can process refunds within 10 working days of receiving all the information we need.
  3. Check if there are any outstanding amounts to pay and settle them, if applicable. Please note that if you owe us money at the end of your fixed term, we may object to the transfer.
  4. If you’re closing your account due to a change of tenancy, please double check that we have the correct transfer date and your forwarding address. Contact us on 01473 277556.
